Schonell App

App guide.

Everything residents need, from first registration to never missing a visitor call. Registration is issued by your building management, not inside the app. Can’t find your answer? Contact us and a representative will assist you.

Getting started

Set up in minutes

Your building management registers every resident personally, so your identity is verified from day one. Here’s the whole journey.

  1. Collect your registration QR

Your building management issues you a personal registration link as a QR code. This is the only way to register. There is no sign-up inside the app.

  2. Scan and create your account

Scan the QR with your phone camera. A secure Schonell webpage opens, where you enter your details and set a password.

  3. Management approves you

Your building management verifies you as a resident and links your account to your unit.

  4. Download, sign in, done

Install the Schonell App from the App Store or Google Play, sign in, and stay signed in. Visitor calls start the moment you’re approved.

Registration QRs are issued only by your building management, ask at the management office. For your security, Schonell cannot register residents directly.

Yes. Each household member registers with their own QR from management. Accounts are individual, and each is approved separately, so everyone’s access can be managed independently.

A smartphone (iOS or Android), a stable internet connection, and an account registered and approved by your building management.

No. Visitors simply scan the QR on the lobby panel with their phone camera, nothing to install, no account needed. The app is for residents only.

Sign in and open the devices tab: your estate’s intercoms appear once management links your unit. If it shows “No connected devices”, your account hasn’t been linked yet, or was removed. Approval is handled by your management office. Check with them directly if you’ve been waiting more than a day or two.

Ask the management of your new estate for a fresh registration QR, and ask your previous management to remove your old link. Your app account itself stays with you.

Yes. The Schonell App is free for every resident, calls, access, and all its features included.

No app needed. The system calls any mobile or landline number, ask your building management to register their number, and they answer visitor calls like any normal phone call.

Rule of thumb: if it’s about the app itself, come to us. If it’s about your estate, registration, approvals, which numbers ring for your unit, or removing someone’s access, that’s your building management, because only they hold the authority to make changes on your estate’s system. Power or internet problems in the building go to management too.

Your account

Passwords & sign-in

One account, all your Schonell services. The single rule: stay signed in.

On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?”, enter your email, and follow the reset link we send you. If you request several resets, only the latest email is valid.

Sign in, open the profile tab, and tap Edit. You can update your phone number and password anytime; your email and App ID are fixed for security.

Just install the Schonell App on the new phone and sign in. Your registration carries over, there’s no need to re-register with management. Remember to allow notifications on the new phone.

Visitor calls only reach devices that are signed in. You can close the app or leave it in the background, but if you sign out, calls can’t reach you until you sign back in.

Each phone needs its own account, sharing one account can cause missed calls or unexpected sign-outs. Ask your building management to register each household member individually.

Reset your password immediately using the “Forgot password?” link, then inform your building management. Calls to your other registered numbers continue as normal.

Directly in the app. Once deleted, all data associated with your account is removed. To use the system again later, simply re-register with a QR from your building management.

Ask your building management. Access is granted per person, so one account or number can be removed without affecting the rest of the household, when a tenant or helper moves on, for example.

Visitor calls

Never miss the door

The app checks most of this for you. Here’s the little that’s left.

iPhone (iOS)

When you first sign in, allow Notifications, Microphone and Camera when the app asks. That’s the whole setup, stay signed in, and calls will reach you.

The usual culprit is a Focus mode: Do Not Disturb and Sleep silence incoming calls, so allow Schonell under Settings › Focus, or switch Focus off. Then confirm Settings › Schonell has Notifications on with Sounds and Banners. After restarting your iPhone, open the app once so it reconnects.

Android

The app has a built-in call checklist that walks you through everything, notifications, permissions and battery settings, and confirms each one is working. Run it when you first sign in, and run it again if calls ever stop.

These brands add an extra “Autostart” switch that the in-app checklist can’t turn on for you. Enable Autostart for Schonell in your phone’s settings, usually under Security, Battery or App management. Everything else is covered by the in-app checklist.

Any phone

Yes. Visitor calls reach you either way: as an app video call over the internet, anywhere with Wi-Fi or mobile data, or as a regular phone call to your Singapore number, which finds you overseas like any normal call.

The call forwards automatically to the next number or device registered for your unit, and keeps going until someone answers. The order is programmed by your building management, and we recommend a mix of app devices and phone numbers for maximum reliability.

Almost always the connection. Switch between Wi-Fi and 4G/5G, close bandwidth-heavy apps, restart the Schonell app, and keep it updated. On a weak connection, let the call divert to audio.

Make a test call from your lobby panel. If another phone signed in to your account rings but yours doesn’t, the issue is your handset’s settings. If no device rings, ask building management to confirm your unit’s programming includes you. Still stuck? Contact us below.

Opening the door

Answer anywhere, enter any way

One tap on a call, or no call at all, entry always stays in your hands.

It arrives like a normal call. Answer, see and speak with your visitor on video, and tap the unlock button to open the door. Not convinced? Just hang up, the door stays locked.

Five: answer a call and tap unlock, tap in the app, tap your home-screen widget, use your access card, or enter a passcode. Use whichever suits the moment.

Yes, anytime. Tap the door in the app or on your widget, or use your access card at the reader. No visitor call required.

Open the call log, the first tab in the app. Every call is listed with its time, duration, and whether access was granted.

Never. Your number is securely masked, visitors, and even security staff, only ever see your unit number.

They reach you like any visitor: scan the lobby QR, call your unit, and you buzz them in from wherever you are, your desk, the gym, overseas. For regular deliveries, a visitor passcode saves the call altogether.

No problem. They can simply call or text you the old-fashioned way, and you open the door from your app, wherever you are. At staffed lobbies, security can also assist.

Every call is logged, time, duration and outcome, but video isn’t kept. If you want a record of a visitor, take a snapshot during the call; it’s saved to your phone.

If the internet goes down, your access card keeps working and calls resume the moment the connection returns. In a power outage, the system continues only where your estate has a backup power supply, your management can confirm yours.

Widget guide

Unlock from your home screen

The Schonell App widget opens doors directly from your home screen, without opening the app.

  1. Enter home screen edit mode

Press and hold any empty space until the icons jiggle.

  2. Find the Schonell widget

Tap “+” or “Add Widget”, search “Interphone”, and choose a size (1×, 2× or 4×).

  3. Assign your entrance

Tap “+” and select your entrance, for example “35A L1, Door 1”.

  4. Repeat for more entrances

Optional, add a widget per door you use often.

  5. Tap “Done” to save

Your widget is live on the home screen.

  6. Tap the lock icon

    The door unlocks instantly.

Visitor passcodes

Let guests in, even when you can’t answer

Share a passcode from your app, and your visitor lets themselves in, no call needed, every entry logged.

  1. Your visitor scans the lobby QR

The same QR they’d use to call you, scanned with their phone camera.

  2. They choose “Passcode”

On the secure page that opens, they select the passcode option instead of calling.

  3. They enter the passcode you shared

Generated in your Schonell App and shared with your visitor in advance.

  4. The door unlocks

Entry is granted, and logged against your unit.

In your Schonell App, under Passcode. Generate one and share it with your visitor ahead of their arrival, ideal for helpers, contractors and expected deliveries.

Yes. Passcodes are issued per unit and every entry is recorded in your log, so you always know who came in, and when.
